Takashi Shiki (Castillo)
After graduating a correspondence high school in 2010, I went on to a sports university aiming to become a physical education teacher. At university, I belonged to the Karate club and functioned as a captain of the team in my junior year. Despite being on a steady track to becoming a teacher, a feeling of self-aversion started to grow towards my lack of creativity. I thought “I don’t want to become a teacher who can only find an answer from a textbook.” I decided to challenge myself in the areas that I was most disadvantaged in, so that I could provide children with advice regarding their future paths, based on my own experiences of me overcoming my weaknesses. To acquire the knowledge and to improve communication skills that were lacking in me, I flew to the Philippines, the country once considered to be the world's best in business English proficiency. I went there for three months to acquire experience and to be able to speak English. I overcame English - my weakest area - by using a self-cultivated method that I called the "Throw away your textbook English conversation method". In the Philippines, I was impressed by their culture - which was totally different from ours - as well as the warmth of people. In 2015, after coming back from the Philippines I graduated the university.
You can create a whole new way of thinking by looking at something from a different perspective, in another word, by looking at “common sense's blind spot”.
With education, support, and business management in my sights, I started my career on the bottom rung of a ladder in various unexperienced fields.

In 2007, after gaining experience in a lot of different industries, such as distributing leaflets, construction, food and beverage, and fashion, I was employed by a major telecommunication enterprise. After working at one of their agencies for half of a year, I was promoted to manager, the youngeest ever in the company. In 2010, after entering university, I engaged myself in a home delivery job, where I became the number one salesperson nation-wide. In the same year, I also started working as a smart phone salesman, during the first smart phone boom. In the first few months I achieved the top sales record in the store. Also in the same year, I started to work for Japan’s biggest distribution company as a call center staff member. Here too, within a few months, I achieved at receiving the most orders nation-wide. All throughout, I remained to be No. 1. In 2015 after graduating from the university, I participated in a web consulting business, and later started a new business in real estate and online video shopping with a man whom I met at the Philippine airport. I became independent in Aug 2017. I now work on developing new businesses including real estate and consulting.
Nov 2014, I went to the Philippine to learn English.

Sept 11 to 15, 2017, I traveled to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea - also known as North Korea - via China. Impacted by the sudden drop of stock prices caused by North Korea's missile launch, I decided to visit the country, impelled by two questions; “Is it really a dangerous country?” and “Can I really do anything to seriously save the Japanese abduction victims without knowing the country?”
